Texas County MOVANS Custody Coverage
Missouri's Victim Automated Notification System, MOVANS, runs through VINELink and by phone at 1-866-566-8267. TTY users can call 1-866-847-1298. The state guide covers offender searches and alert registration across participating agencies. No guarantee comes with it. Not every county jail reports every event.
No Texas County or sheriff page states outright that the Justice Center Jail feeds live data to the system. Test the Missouri agency selector yourself. Then confirm anything important with the jail at 417-967-4165. A no-result answer has many causes, and it never proves that no arrest took place.
Search Texas County Custody on VINELink
Searches accept a first and last name, an offender ID, a court case number, or a protective-order case number. Picking the right agency narrows the results. Partial names work, and adding a date of birth or age range helps separate people with similar names.
- Open VINELink and choose Missouri.
- Select the relevant agency if Texas County appears.
- Search with the strongest identifiers available.
- Compare name, age or birth date, agency, and status.
- Record the date, time, spelling, and selected agency.
- Call the jail if the match is absent or unclear.
The Texas County booking-record hub explains how to request the underlying record, which VINELink does not replace. The official VINELink interface appears below.

This screen is a search entry point. It is not a roster of people or proof of custody.
What Missouri MOVANS May Show
What shows up depends on the reporting agency. The state guide lists the fields below, but Texas County availability is not assured.
| Possible field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Name, DOB, age | Identity matching information |
| Custody status | Reported custody state at that time |
| Location or status reason | Facility or reason status changed |
| Reporting agency | Agency supplying the data |
| Offender identifier | System record key, not necessarily a court number |
| Photo | Optional when an agency supplies one |
A person can be booked before any electronic report exists. Release or transfer can change a result that looked solid an hour earlier. Note the time of each check, and treat the answer as a snapshot rather than history.
Register Texas County Custody Alerts
Registration usually starts once you open an offender record. MOVANS can then send notices by phone, email, text, or TTY. The guide lists release, transfer, escape, death, bail, and other status events, though what a county supplies varies.
- Open the verified person record.
- Choose the custody event and delivery method offered.
- Enter contact information carefully.
- Create the requested PIN for telephone notifications.
- Complete any confirmation step.
- Keep the registration details and continue direct checks when safety depends on timing.
Custody registration does not enroll you in court-event or protective-order notices. Those take separate sign-ups. For the court docket, Case.net remains the source.
Confirm a Texas County VINELink Result
MOVANS can lag a fresh booking. A participating agency may go offline for a while. A blank result can also mean a name mismatch. It can point to a release, a transfer, or the wrong system. The Arrests Last 24 Hours page lays out a phone-first workflow. Ask the jail directly about custody, intake, release, or transfer.
For a filed case, search Missouri Case.net. For the outcome, you can also call the Texas County Circuit Clerk.
Booking Photos in Missouri MOVANS
The Missouri guide says an offender detail may carry a booking photograph when the reporting agency supplies one. Texas County photos are not promised. The sheriff publishes no public photo-display policy. A missing image changes nothing about custody status.
Ask the agency that holds the booking record for any releasable image. A booking photo identifies a person arrested. Check it against the court record before saying anything about how a case ended.
Custody Beyond Texas County
Match the tool to the custody layer you need. The MODOC Offender Web Search covers people under active Missouri prison or community supervision. It is not a feed of everyone recently arrested. Completed sentences, interstate compact cases, and some supervision categories fall outside it. The official MODOC search form shows that narrower scope.

A state DOC result reflects sentenced or supervised custody, not a Texas County booking feed. For federal inmates, use the BOP inmate locator. Immigration detention runs through DHS-VINE, separate from Missouri MOVANS.

That federal interface tracks ICE detainees. Never treat it as a county-jail search.
Understand Missouri MOVANS Alerts
An alert reports a change the agency passed along, nothing more. Advance warning is never guaranteed. Delivery can stumble on agency timing, phone service, email filters, or stale contact data. Keep your details current. When safety depends on timing, keep checking directly.
Release and transfer are different events. Release ends custody; transfer hands it to another facility. Bail is a pretrial condition. Escape and death notices describe custody events, not the strength of any charge. Phone users should guard the PIN that confirms receipt.
Custody and Court Alerts Differ
The MOVANS guide keeps custody registration and court-event registration apart. Signing up for custody alerts does not subscribe you to hearings. Protective-order notices may need a third registration. Check the event type and save your confirmation details.
Case.net supplies dockets, not live jail status. Use it or the Circuit Clerk to see whether charges were filed, amended, dropped, or resolved. MODOC victim services can add parole, release, escape, or death notices after a state sentence begins. That service is not a same-day county booking alert.
Match Texas County Custody Identities
A name alone proves little. Match the date of birth, the age, the offender ID, the agency, and the location before trusting any custody result. Broad, partial-name searches pull in strangers. That's how mistaken matches happen. When the facts clash, call the jail and ask directly. Write down what you searched and when, since intake, corrections, and transfers can each change an answer minutes later.

Search Missouri MOVANS Precisely
Missouri MOVANS accepts full names, partial names, offender IDs, court case numbers, and protective-order case numbers. Agency filters tighten the results. A birth date or age range separates people who share a name. Alphabetical order tells you nothing about booking time. A record may show custody status, where someone is held, why a status changed, the reporting agency, birth date, age, and sometimes an agency photo.
Texas County does not certify live participation, update cadence, or photo delivery. So a blank result has many causes. The agency may be absent or offline. Intake lag, a release, a transfer, a wrong selector, or plain nonparticipation can all explain it. Try spelling variants and confirm the birth date. Still nothing? Call the Justice Center.
Choose the Correct Custody Handoff
Each system answers a different question. MODOC search covers active state incarceration or supervision, not every arrest. It also skips completed sentences plus some compact or supervision cases. Federal criminal custody belongs to the BOP locator. Documented immigration detention goes through DHS-VINE. Missouri MOVANS does not search ICE detainees, and DHS-VINE is no county roster. Label Texas County custody, Missouri corrections, and federal custody as three separate things. Confirm any transfer with the sending jail and the receiving system. If the destination is unclear, do not guess. Ask for its recorded name and transfer time.
Maintain Reliable MOVANS Registration
Keep registration details apart from search notes. Log the agency, the person's identifier, chosen event types, delivery channel, and confirmation date. Phone registration may need a PIN to acknowledge calls. Email and text signups can require confirmation steps. An unconfirmed registration may simply never fire. Before blaming the service, check voicemail settings, blocked-call filters, text delivery, and spam folders. Update contact details through the service whenever they change. An alert only travels if the reporting agency sends an event and the channel delivers it. Treat it as a supplement to calling the jail, never a replacement when timing affects safety.
Court registration stands on its own. Custody and litigation run on separate clocks. A person can be released while a case moves forward. Another can stay held while charges are amended. Protective-order matters carry their own case and alert path. Confirm which enrollment you actually created; one registration does not cover them all.
For the booking record itself, contact the Texas County Sheriff's Office at the Justice Center, 519 North Grand Avenue, Suite 101, Houston, MO 65483, or call 417-967-4165. Ask which agency supplied the status and whether intake, release, or transfer has finished. For the judicial outcome, use Case.net and the Circuit Clerk.
Note: Save the search time and registration confirmation, and recheck the Texas County jail whenever MOVANS is blank, delayed, or inconsistent with a known arrest, release, or transfer.
Alerts are informational. When current custody or transfer status matters, verify with the agency directly.
